In the first chapter of Hometown, there are no collectibles, allowing players to focus solely on the main story. However, in the second chapter, players are required to collect seven Artifacts and three Firefly Pendants, as well as complete four Optional Conversations.
The Quarantine Zone
Optional Conversation #1
On your way to the roadblock, talk to the man standing by the red box on the right side of the street.
Beyond the Wall
Artifact #1: Military Pamphlet
Picked up automatically when you pick up your backpack in the story.
Artifact #2: Boston Q.Z. Map
Is obtained automatically when the player picks up their backpack as part of the story progression.
Optional Conversation #2
After you go up to the cafe with the tables, Tess will be waiting outside to talk to you.
Firefly Pendant #1: Vigil
After putting the board against the wall and climbing into the building, go forward to the room with the old mattresses. The pendant lies in a pile of rags by the nightstand.
Optional Conversation #3
When Joel puts on his gas mask and climbs through the narrow passage, you can examine the corpse to trigger this dialogue.
Artifact #3: Note to Brother
In the spore infested building, you need to go up the stairs to the top floor and go through the closed door on the left. The note will be on the table.
Firefly Pendant #2: Glueck
After following the board through the hole in the floor in the next building, you will enter the courtyard. From there, go through the alley following Tess and look to your left. The pendant is hanging from a tree, you need to shoot it to retrieve it.
The Slums
Artifact #4: Drafting Notice
In the Slums, go straight through the old bus to find this note by the dishwasher.
Artifact #5: Wanted Poster
There is a bulletin board right next to the previous location from which you can pick up this poster.
Artifact #6: Shipping Manifest
After you pass through the warehouse and first notice Robert in the port. The note lies by the fence on the right side.
Artifact #7: Docks Note
There is a large red boat suspended from the ceiling here in the harbor. The note lies behind the blue cart beside it.
The Cargo
Optional Conversation #4
When Marlene joins you, you’ll have to deal with a group of soldiers to get through the building. After that, approach her on the bridge to listen to this dialogue.
Firefly Pendant #3: Liu
When Ellie joins you, you can pick up this pendant from the troupe in the yard.
